Cryptocurrency Deposit Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions

1.1 “ZARbet”, “we”, “us” or “our” means Apollo Gaming (Pty) Ltd, licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board.

1.2 “MoneyBadger” means MoneyBadger (Pty) Ltd, or such other licensed virtual asset / cryptocurrency payment service provider ZARbet may appoint from time to time, which processes cryptocurrency deposits on ZARbet’s behalf and converts them into South African Rand (“ZAR”).

1.3 “Cryptocurrency” means any digital or virtual asset supported by MoneyBadger and made available for deposit through the ZARbet payment interface from time to time.

1.4 “You” or “your” means the verified, registered holder of the ZARbet betting account into which a cryptocurrency deposit is made.

1.5 “Wallet” means a cryptocurrency wallet, address or exchange account from which a deposit is sent.

2. Nature of the Facility

2.1 ZARbet offers cryptocurrency as a deposit method only, through MoneyBadger, an independent third-party virtual asset service provider. All bets are placed and settled in ZAR.

2.2 ZARbet does not itself receive, hold, custody, transmit or store any cryptocurrency at any point. Cryptocurrency you send is received, processed and converted to ZAR exclusively by MoneyBadger, and only the resulting ZAR amount is settled to ZARbet and credited to your account.

2.3 Cryptocurrency may not be used to withdraw funds from ZARbet. All withdrawals are processed using ZARbet’s standard ZAR withdrawal methods, paid to a bank account or other payment method held in your own name.

2.4 Your use of MoneyBadger’s payment service may also be subject to MoneyBadger’s own terms of service, which you must review and accept independently. Where those terms conflict with these Crypto Terms as they relate to your relationship with ZARbet, these Crypto Terms prevail.

3. Eligibility and Wallet Ownership

3.1 You may only deposit from a Wallet that is registered in your own name, held under your sole control, and which you are legally entitled to use. Deposits from a Wallet belonging to or controlled by any third party — including a family member, friend, or business associate — are strictly prohibited, even with that person’s consent.

3.2 You warrant that: (a) the Cryptocurrency you deposit is legitimately owned by you and lawfully obtained; (b) it is not, in whole or in part, derived from or connected to any criminal activity, fraud, theft, hacking, ransomware, dark web marketplace activity, or any other unlawful source; and (c) you are not depositing on behalf of, at the direction of, or for the benefit of any other person.

3.3 You confirm that neither you, nor to your knowledge the source of the funds, is subject to applicable sanctions or listed on any sanctions, terrorism or financial crime watchlist. If you are a politically exposed person (“PEP”), or a close associate or family member of a PEP, you must disclose this to ZARbet before making a cryptocurrency deposit.

3.4 ZARbet may screen deposit and originating wallet addresses using blockchain analytics tools. ZARbet may refuse, delay, reverse or reject any deposit where the originating address, or any address in the transaction’s history, is associated with a mixer, tumbler, darknet market, sanctioned entity, stolen funds, or other high-risk or illicit activity.

4. Supported Cryptocurrencies, Networks and Limits

4.1 Cryptocurrency deposits may only be made using the cryptocurrencies, networks and Wallets supported by MoneyBadger and made available through the ZARbet payment interface at the time of the transaction. The supported list may change from time to time without notice.

4.2 ZARbet does not support privacy-focused cryptocurrencies or anonymity-enhancing protocols that obscure the sender, receiver or transaction amount, unless expressly listed as supported within the ZARbet payment interface.

4.3 The minimum cryptocurrency deposit is R50 per transaction and the maximum is R1,000,000 per transaction, subject to any lower limit ZARbet applies based on your account’s verification tier, risk rating, or applicable regulatory requirements. Higher-value deposits may require enhanced due diligence before being accepted or credited.

4.4 You may not structure deposits — for example, by splitting a single intended deposit into multiple smaller transactions — with the purpose or effect of avoiding a verification threshold, reporting obligation, or internal control. ZARbet may treat linked or sequential transactions as a single transaction for these purposes.

5. Making a Deposit and Crediting to Your Account

5.1 You are solely responsible for reviewing and confirming all transaction details — including the cryptocurrency, network, wallet address, memo/tag (where applicable) and amount — before completing payment. Blockchain transactions are irreversible. ZARbet is not responsible for, and will not compensate you for, any loss arising from incorrect information or instructions you provide, or from sending funds to the wrong address, wrong network, or an unsupported cryptocurrency.

5.2 The cryptocurrency amount required to complete a deposit may vary depending on prevailing exchange or conversion rates at the time of payment. ZARbet is not responsible for fluctuations in cryptocurrency prices, network fees, exchange rates or conversion rates. The amount credited to your account will be the ZAR amount determined through the MoneyBadger payment process, less any applicable fees.

5.3 Any network or blockchain transaction (“gas”) fee is your responsibility and is typically deducted from, or added to, the amount you send, independently of ZARbet.

5.4 A cryptocurrency deposit is only credited to your ZARbet betting account once it has been successfully processed, confirmed and settled in ZAR through the MoneyBadger payment process. A transaction shown as “complete” or “confirmed” in your wallet or exchange does not mean the deposit has been credited to your ZARbet account.

5.5 Where the amount received differs from the amount required or displayed for the deposit, ZARbet may delay, adjust or withhold crediting until the discrepancy has been investigated and resolved. You must report a deposit that has not been credited within a reasonable time, and in any event within 30 days of sending it, and provide the transaction hash/ID and supporting evidence to enable investigation.

6. Verification, Monitoring and Regulatory Compliance

6.1 ZARbet and/or MoneyBadger may request information or documentation, before or after a deposit, to verify your identity, your ownership and control of the originating Wallet, and the source of funds and source of wealth of the Cryptocurrency deposited. You must provide this promptly and accurately.

6.2 ZARbet and/or MoneyBadger monitor cryptocurrency transactions, including available blockchain and transaction data, on an ongoing basis for fraud prevention, financial crime prevention (including money laundering and terrorist financing), sanctions compliance, regulatory compliance and risk management, in accordance with applicable law, including the Financial Intelligence Centre Act, 2001, and ZARbet’s Anti-Money Laundering and Know-Your-Customer policies.

6.3 ZARbet may delay, reject, reverse, suspend, freeze or withhold any cryptocurrency deposit, and may suspend, restrict or close your account, where reasonably necessary for the purposes in this clause 6, where required by law, or where ZARbet reasonably suspects the deposit is connected to fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, or other unlawful or prohibited activity.

6.4 Where ZARbet reasonably suspects a deposit is unlawful, connected to criminal activity, or made in breach of these Crypto Terms, ZARbet may report the matter to MoneyBadger, the Financial Intelligence Centre, the applicable gambling regulator, law enforcement, or any other competent authority, and may withhold, freeze, or, where legally required, forfeit or return the funds to a competent authority or the identified originating source, without liability to you.

6.5 Providing false, misleading or incomplete information in connection with a cryptocurrency deposit is a material breach of these Crypto Terms and may result in suspension or closure of your account, forfeiture of the deposit in question to the extent permitted by law, and referral to the relevant authorities.

7. Security

7.1 You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your Wallet, exchange account, private keys, seed phrases, login credentials and ZARbet account. ZARbet is not responsible for losses arising from a compromised Wallet or account, lost or stolen private keys or credentials, or an unauthorised transaction resulting from your failure to maintain appropriate security.

7.2 You must notify ZARbet immediately if you become aware, or suspect, that your Wallet, exchange account or ZARbet account has been compromised or used without your authorisation.

8. Availability, Suspension, Reversal and Variation

8.1 The cryptocurrency deposit facility, and any particular cryptocurrency, network or Wallet type, may be temporarily or permanently unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, security concerns, regulatory requirements, action by MoneyBadger, or other circumstances beyond ZARbet’s reasonable control.

8.2 Cryptocurrency deposits may be delayed or remain uncredited due to network congestion, blockchain processing times, incorrect payment details, unsupported cryptocurrencies or networks, issues at your wallet or exchange, MoneyBadger’s processing, or other circumstances beyond ZARbet’s reasonable control. ZARbet is not liable for such delays.

8.3 ZARbet reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without liability, to restrict, suspend or discontinue cryptocurrency deposits generally or for a specific account, and to amend the cryptocurrencies, networks, Wallets, limits or verification requirements applicable to cryptocurrency deposits, at any time and without prior notice, including for security, legal, regulatory or risk-management reasons.

8.4 Where ZARbet reasonably believes that a credited deposit should not have been accepted, resulted from an error, was obtained through conduct prohibited by these Crypto Terms, or was subject to a valid claim, reversal or dispute by MoneyBadger, an exchange, or a third party, ZARbet may reverse or debit the corresponding amount — including any winnings directly attributable to that deposit — from your account, and may take any further action permitted under ZARbet’s general Terms and Conditions.

9. Refunds

9.1 Where a refund of a cryptocurrency deposit is permitted under ZARbet’s general Terms and Conditions, it will be processed in ZAR (or, where applicable and at ZARbet’s discretion, in Cryptocurrency) in accordance with the applicable MoneyBadger payment process. Refund requests must satisfy the same verification and source-of-funds requirements as deposits.

9.2 The value of any refund may differ from the value originally deposited due to changes in cryptocurrency exchange or conversion rates, applicable fees, or network conditions between the time of deposit and the time of refund. ZARbet is not responsible for any such difference.

10. Fees, Exchange Rates and Taxes

10.1 ZARbet does not charge a fee for making a cryptocurrency deposit, but MoneyBadger, your wallet provider, exchange, or the relevant blockchain network may apply fees outside ZARbet’s control.

10.2 You are solely responsible for determining and meeting any tax obligations arising from your cryptocurrency transactions, including to the South African Revenue Service. ZARbet does not provide tax advice.

11. Data Sharing and Privacy

11.1 To process a cryptocurrency deposit and comply with applicable law, ZARbet may share your personal information and transaction information with MoneyBadger, blockchain analytics providers, regulators, the Financial Intelligence Centre, law enforcement and other competent authorities, in accordance with ZARbet’s Privacy Policy and applicable data protection law, including the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013.

11.2 By making a cryptocurrency deposit, you consent to this processing and sharing of information to the extent necessary for the purposes described in these Crypto Terms.

12. Prohibited Use

12.1 You may not use cryptocurrency payments for any unlawful purpose, or in connection with fraud, theft, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, tax evasion, or any other prohibited or criminal activity.

12.2 You may not use cryptocurrency deposits to circumvent any deposit limit, self-exclusion, responsible gambling restriction, or verification requirement applicable to your ZARbet account under ZARbet’s general Terms and Conditions.

12.3 Any breach of this clause 12 is a material breach of these Crypto Terms, and ZARbet may take any action described in clauses 6 and 8, in addition to any other rights available to it under its general Terms and Conditions or applicable law.

13. General

13.1 These Crypto Terms form part of, and must be read together with, ZARbet’s general Terms and Conditions, Privacy Policy and Responsible Gambling policy. In the event of a conflict specifically regarding cryptocurrency deposits, these Crypto Terms prevail; in all other respects — including governing law and dispute resolution — the general Terms and Conditions apply.

13.2 ZARbet may amend these Crypto Terms at any time by publishing the updated version on the ZARbet website or platform. The version in effect at the time you make a cryptocurrency deposit applies to that deposit.

13.3 By making a cryptocurrency deposit, you confirm that the transaction is lawful and legitimate, that you meet the eligibility requirements in clause 3, and that you agree to these Crypto Terms and all applicable laws and regulations.
